Never Fear

This story is about a little boy named Mark. He and his mom talked about guardian angels. It is the last day of school and he is on his way home when he is hit by a car and saved by his guardian angel. We have read a lot about angels in this book. I believe in angels and believe God created them to help Him. Good things and bad things happen in this world with and without our prayers. Prayer is a way for us to communicate with God and it allows us to have a relationship with God. It is also a means for us to do everything that we can when there is nothing more that we can do -- namely, turn to God, trust Him, rely on Him and rest in Him knowing that He is in control. When you have time, I would encourage you to pray for those you love!

The scripture reading is Acts 12: 1-19. This is a story about Peter when he was in jail and how an angel of God came and miraculously got him out of jail even though he was being guarded by 16 guards. There were a lot of people praying for him. At the same time, James was in jail and was put to death. So, why is James killed and Peter released with the help of an angel? We don't know all the answers. There is evil in this world and everyone has a free will. We need to trust that God is in control and that He will use everything that happens to accomplish His purpose.

Matthew 18:10 - "See that you do not look down on one of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven." Jesus said this.

Hebrews 1:14 - "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?"
